Her success began in 1998 when she released her debut song "Baby One More Time," which earned nine million of copies worldwide. The music video of the song showed Britney dressed in a schoolgirl uniform. In 1999 she released the album of the same title, for which she received two Grammy nominations - Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance (for "Baby One More Time"). It reached # 1 on the Billboard 200.

The following year Britney landed another chart-topping “Oops, I Did It Again,” breaking records for most radio station additions in a single day. It soon became a top ten hit in the United States and other countries. In the same year, she embarked in her first world tour, the "Oops!... I Did It Again World Tour". Her forth album titled “In the Zone” was another smashing hit. She penned eight tracks from the CD. She opened up a New York fashion restaurant in July 2002 with Louisiana type-name “Nyla”.
